Overview
Do you enjoy working in a creative fast-growing entrepreneurial environment? With indie you´ll never walk alone! We place high value on our teams and pursue excellence for our employees and customers!
indie is empowering the Autotech revolution with next generation automotive semiconductors and software platforms. We focus on edge sensors spanning multiple modalities including LiDAR, radar, ultrasound and vision for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), autonomous vehicles, connected car, user experience and electrification applications.
You will join a small team of highly competent engineers involved in the design of SoC solutions targeting automotive driver assistance system (ADAS) applications. You will model physical systems that are relevant to the application and use them to develop, evaluate and optimize algorithms that directly impact the performance, cost and power budget of the whole system. You will provide support for requirement definition, and to firmware and hardware design teams, as well as to verification teams. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented and motivated engineer to join a growing team of engineers who strive to solve automotive problems.
Responsibilities
- Develop, evaluate and optimize algorithms for LiDAR, RADAR or other ADAS sensor systems of similar overall complexity.
- Translating high-level requirements to architectures and algorithms that are able to satisfy those requirements
- Model physical systems and their non-idealities to aid algorithm evaluation
- Performing trade-off analysis between performance, footprint, computational cost, and power consumption
- Defining and formally writing requirements of software and hardware subsystems that implement those algorithms
- Support software, firmware, hardware and verification teams with a systems view of the problem, preferably using executable specifications
- Document and present system work to colleagues, suppliers, customers and management cogently
Requirements
These are the skills and know how an ideal candidate would bring. We understand that nobody is perfect! After all, your new job should challenge you and you should have the possibilities to grow.
- Masters or PhD degree in electronics, software, telecommunications or equivalent with 7+ years working experience in research and development
- Experience in from-scratch new product development
- Experience modeling sensor systems, preferably high frequency and/or optical
- Knowledge of DSP algorithms commonly used in radar, LiDAR or sonar
- Experience developing, evaluating and optimizing complex algorithms for embedded targets
- Experience in object oriented programming in Matlab, Python or C++
- Proficiency in oral and written communication in English
- Ability to work as a self-starting individual contributor under remote management
- Ability to function effectively under ambiguity in a growing organization
