indie is empowering the Autotech revolution with next generation automotive semiconductors and software platforms. We focus on edge sensors spanning multiple modalities including LiDAR, radar, ultrasound and vision for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), autonomous vehicles, connected car, user experience and electrification applications.

We are seeking a Sr. Staff Lab and Test Engineer to join our indie radar systems team. Focus of the position is managing the RF and mixed-signal lab including the development of measurement setups. Your scope encompasses the characterization and evaluation of breakout ICs, fully integrated MMICs, mmWave components and complete radar systems. Additional tasks are planning and performing measurement campaigns on PCB as well as wafer and die level to characterize the performance of mmWave ICs and systems. This involves deriving customized measurement setups for challenging measurement tasks, maintaining the lab and corresponding equipment as well as automatization of equipment and whole setups. Documentation of the measurement procedures, setups and results are also within your responsibility. In this position, you will work closely with IC design team, test team, requirements team and DevOps team.

  • Managing and maintaining the RF, wafer probe and mixed signal lab.
  • Derive setups for characterization of mmWave ICs and boards.
  • Automate measurement setups and evaluationscripts.
  • Organize, support and perform measurement campaigns.
  • Contribute to automated unit tests (SIL and HIL).
  • Support measurement, evaluation and DVT setups.
  • Documentation of setups, measurement methods and results.
  • In an agile development environment, you will be part of striving towards best performance and stability of our measurement setups.
  • You actively collaborate with teams from different departments and sites in an international environment.
  • Some travel will be required, including international.

  • University degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, comparable qualification, or self-trained industrial experience.

  • Significant knowledge and experience in lab practice and handling of high-end mmWave measurement equipment

  • Demonstrated experience with different measurement setups and characterization methods for analog and digital ICs and PCBs.

  • Knowledge of Python or Matlab for instrumentation control and automation.

  • Enjoy debugging as well as inventing more efficient ways to test.

  • Familiarity with on wafer measurements of mmWave circuits is a plus.

  • Experience with continuous integration and delivery tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins, JIRA or Gerrit) is a plus.

  • Business-fluent English is required, German language skills are a plus.
